With the commencement of the Eastern Linear Park planning phase, preparations are under way for a significant environmental and social project in Paphos.

The park will extend from the terminal roundabout on the Limassol-Paphos highway to the Limnaria region in Kato Paphos, crossing the borders of Paphos, Geroskipou, and Konia.

During a ceremony at the Attikon site in early August, the Paphos Municipality unveiled the project, which is being praised as one of the most significant projects for the area.

A crucial component of the plan will be the rebirth of the natural stream that flows along the eastern side of Paphos, marking the boundary between the Paphos and Eastern Paphos municipalities. The public will have access to the region around the stream.

With further branches, the park will cover 6.5 km and feature a variety of features, such as a playground, bike lanes, pedestrian walkways, outdoor exercise equipment, sports and entertainment facilities, information kiosks, and parking spots.

Additionally, it will link the waterfronts of the two municipalities and function as a natural extension of the coastal promenade.

With the expenses of land expropriation still to be determined, the project's total anticipated cost is €9.2 million.
