Cyprus tourism is rebounding despite the crisis, according to STEC
Cyprus' tourism sector is recovering despite the challenges posed by conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, according to the Cyprus Tourism Enterprises Association (STEC). The organization highlighted that tourism remains a key support for the country and its people during difficult times.
STEC welcomed the celebration of the 45th World Tourism Day, held for the first time in Tbilisi, Georgia, with the theme "Tourism and Peace". The association emphasized that this message resonates strongly with Cyprus, given its history and ongoing division.
Despite recent global conflicts, Cyprus has shown that tourism is a resilient sector. STEC also stressed the importance of improving the quality of tourism in the country, noting that "tourism brings people together" and plays a crucial role in promoting peace and unity.
World Tourism Day, celebrated annually on September 27, aims to highlight the social, cultural, and economic value of tourism and its contribution to sustainable development.
STEC concluded by underscoring the need to promote sustainable tourism and Cyprus' rich cultural heritage to meet evolving global trends.
