Nicosia’s old GSP stadium commercial spaces set for tender

The long-awaited tender for commercial development at Nicosia’s old GSP stadium is finally poised to move forward. The Nicosia Municipal Council is expected to discuss the matter in today’s session, which could clear the way for the announcement to be published.

The tender, originally planned for last November, covers five commercial spaces primarily intended for restaurants and cafés. All five units will be awarded to a single manager, who will take responsibility for fitting out and operating the entire set. The spaces will be handed over in a “cold shell” condition, meaning the basic structure will be provided, but the winning bidder will handle interior design and equipment according to their business plan.

If approved and bids proceed as planned, the commercial spaces are expected to open towards late 2026 or early 2027. The time in between will allow for the award process, space preparation, and business setup. The project is seen as a significant step in giving new life to the old stadium area while offering opportunities for restaurants and cafés to establish themselves in a prime location.
