Ambitious development plans unveiled for Paralimni-Deryneia

More than €55 million worth of development projects are moving forward across the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia, with plans focused on upgrading infrastructure, enhancing public spaces and creating new cultural, recreational and tourism facilities. The programme includes improvements across all municipal districts and aims to support residents' quality of life while strengthening the area's appeal as a year-round destination.

Among the largest projects are the expansion of the coastal promenade, which will eventually connect Kapparis with Konnos Beach, a new multipurpose conference and cultural centre, the regeneration of the town centre and central square, and the construction of a multi-storey car park with nearly 300 spaces. Additional plans include road upgrades, new green areas, public squares, improved pedestrian routes and enhanced accessibility throughout the municipality.

The development programme also features the restoration of the historic Linaion cinema into a cultural venue, the creation of a youth and dog park near Paralimni Lake, a new care home for the elderly, a panoramic viewpoint at Profitis Ilias hill and several tourism-focused attractions. Municipal authorities say the projects are designed to create a more modern, functional and sustainable urban environment while supporting future growth and community wellbeing.
