Yeroskipou is a large suburb in the district of Paphos and it presently has 8,313 residents (World Population Review). According to legend the gardens of the Goddess Aphrodite were there, and that is where the name comes from. The name was inspired by the Greek words “ieros” which means holy and “kipos” which means gardens.
Yeroskipou has developed to a modern community over the last years, but still preserves its traditional character. The Church of Agia Paraskevi, a well-known attraction that dates back to the early Christian era, is located in the area.
