Cyprus will continue to apply a zero VAT rate on a variety of everyday essentials throughout 2026. The initiative aims to support households by keeping prices lower for commonly used products.

The scheme covers baby and personal care items such as baby milk, nappies for babies and adults, and feminine hygiene products. It also includes a wide range of fresh and chilled vegetables, including potatoes, tomatoes, onions, leafy greens, and other popular produce.

Additionally, many fresh fruits are part of the zero VAT plan, such as bananas, citrus fruits, apples, grapes, melons, berries, and stone fruits. The tax authority has clarified that only the products specifically listed are eligible and has encouraged businesses to adhere closely to the scheme’s guidelines.
