Kyperounta is the largest village in the district of Limassol, in the Pitsilia region. It is 43 kilometers from Limassol and 78 kilometers from Nicosia and is built just under the Troodos Mountain with stunning views and nature around. The village presently has 1,560 residents (World Population Review).
Given that Kyperounta was constructed between 1300 and 1500 meters above sea level, it is important to note that it is one of the communities with the highest altitude. After the towns of Chandria and Prodromos, it is the third-largest settlement on the island with the greatest height. The settlement shares boundaries with Chandria to the east, with Dymes to the southeast and with Amiantos in the southwest. According to a legend, the village’s name derives from the “Kyperos” or “Kyperi” plant. In particular, "Kyperos" refers to a weed that grows abundantly in the area.
The Kouris river's principal tributaries cut Kyperounta into a number of deep, slender valleys. Wintertime brings below-freezing temperatures, frosts, and snow. The summertime has wonderful weather. Noteworthy features in the village include an "ecclesiastical sculpture", the Chapel of the Holy Cross. The chapel is now a museum and is included as part of the world cultural heritage by UNESCO. Along with these, Kyperounta’s two museum are very unique features of the village. The National Liberation Struggle and the Museum of Rural Traditional Life, as well as the Natural History Museum are the three main museum here. The visitors of the museums can study the exhibits of old household objects, farm equipment, stuffed animals and birds from the area.
The village is considered a great residential area and there is a variety of properties. You can find houses, bungalows, villas and plots of land. We feature 0 дома купить in Kyperounta.
