The beautiful Anafotia is built about twenty kilometers southwest of the city of Larnaca. The village is built atop a small hill and offers a gorgeous view. While strolling through the village, you will come across the church of Ayia Fotini, an 18th-century structure, as well as neighborhoods with homes of folk architecture and orchards full of citrus and vegetable crops. Anafotia was a fiefdom under the Frankish and Venetian rule. The Venetian castle (Koula) is still preserved up to today and was constructed by the Venetians. A small church dedicated to Ayia Marina is located in the village. The church and the village’s name, Fatida, are included on the first handwritten map of the village.
Residents can enjoy their village’s beautiful center where there is a square, along with beautiful parks around the area. Over the year a number of events are being held in the village, where people come together, bond and feast. The overall unique spirit of the community stands out. In the central square of Anafotia there is also a Heroes' Monument dedicated to Michalakis Paridis and Tasos Konstantinou. It is a Monument made of marble slabs and bronze busts.
People in Anafotia are mostly engaged in the cultivation of vines. Hence, in the past one of the primary corps in the village was viticulture. The wonderful beaches of Mazotos village are just next to Anafotia, where people tend to go during summer time.
