Meneou is a seaside village in the district of Larnaca about 8 kilometers southwest of the city of Larnaca. Meneou has excellent transportation options by road. To the north-west it is connected to the village of Dromolaxia, to the north-east to the city of Larnaca, to the south-west to the village of Kiti, and to the south-east to the coastal area. It is also connected to the southwest with the village of Pervolia. Currently the village has 1,248 residents (World Population Review). The scenery around the village is just breathtaking. A thicket of eucalyptus trees to the west and infinite rows of towering cypress trees to the north frame the salty, coastal lake, which is only 50 meters from the sea. In the distance, Stavrovouni dominates with its monastery. The enormous Tersefanou wind farm blends seamlessly into the beautiful scene that people can observe by the lake. Numerous birds live, and feed on its banks while flights depart in succession from the adjacent international airport of Cyprus. The view is magical. Fresh fruits and vegetables grown and produced by the residents of Meneou can be purchased on the route that connects the city of Larnaca in the east with the settlement of Kitio in the west.
In Meneou you will find a number of restaurants, taverns, beach bars and cafeterias. Residents of the village can also take advantage of the sandy beach of Meneou, which stretches out around 30 meters. The beach is great for dog owners, since it is allowed to go there with your best friend-dog.
