About 30 kilometers west of the city of Limassol, in the Limassol district, is the lovely village of Pissouri. The village reaches the sea in the south. According to legend, the community dates back to the Byzantine era. The village's name's etymology has been the subject of numerous theories. According to one interpretation, Pissouri gets its name from the ancient city of Voosoura, which got placed by historians on the edge of the village area.
