Maroni is a village in the district of Larnaca, about 35 kilometers southwest of the city of Larnaca. The village is connected to the southwest with the village of Zygi, to the northwest with the village of Psematismenos and through it to the new Nicosia-Limassol Road.

Maroni village existed since the Middle Ages. It is labeled as Marova on historical maps. De Mas Latry claims that during the Frankish era, the village was a fief that belonged to the royal estates.
