Apsiou is a village in the district of Limassol, situated 410 meters above sea level. The river Garyllis flows at the base of the settlement. Roads links Apsiou to Louvaras in the north, Fasoula in the south, Mathkoloni in the southeast, and the main Limassol-Kalo Chorio Road in the west, with the route continuing to the east until it reaches the Amiros monastery.
There is a new school that now stands where the old school was on the top of a hill in the Pano Apsiou and Kato Apsiou areas. Several years ago, the village was known for its Commandaria production that was made by immediately processing grapes, at the “winemaking” which can be viewed when standing at the school’s location. In addition, there were mines in operation nearby since the village is a natural source of minerals and rocks due to its location. None of them are functional now.
