Anticipated boost in winter flight activity at Paphos airport

Exciting news is on the horizon for Paphos Airport this winter, as it gears up for a notable increase in flight activity. This Mediterranean hub is set to welcome travelers from 40 European cities, offering an easy gateway to the sunny shores of Cyprus.

The Paphos airport is going to have about 15% more flights, which means a total of 115 flights every week from 40 cities in Europe.

Nasos Hatzigeorgiou, who runs the Paphos Regional Board of Tourism (ETAP), is pretty happy about this. He says that most of these extra flights are because of Ryanair. They've planned a lot of flights for the winter season of 2023-2024.

These extra flights are mainly coming from airports in Poland, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, and countries near the Baltic Sea. There will also be two flights every week from Athens.

Hatzigeorgiou also mentioned that EasyJet will keep flying to Paphos a lot, with 17 flights every week from five different airports in the UK.

It's really good news that Paphos will stay connected to important airports in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Poland, Israel, and other European countries all year round. But Hatzigeorgiou wants more flights from airports in Germany, Scandinavian countries, and Lebanon.

Hatzigeorgiou says that having these flights is super important for Paphos and all of Cyprus. It helps people from all over Europe visit this sunny place and keeps it attractive for tourists.

So, as winter approaches, Paphos Airport is getting busier with more flights coming in. It's great news for travelers looking to visit Cyprus. With Ryanair and EasyJet leading the way, this sunny spot remains a top destination all year round.
